Floating absorbent booms
Floating booms are water-repellent “logs” that absorb petroleum products in the event of a spill.
Each boom has snap hooks and rings used to link them together to the desired length. A continuous absorbent dam is thus created to capture hydrocarbons that may be found on the water surface.
We stock floating absorbant booms of two diameters: 127 mm and 203 mm.
They come in packs of 4, and each pack covers a linear distance of 10.5 m.
To ensure effective absorption, it is important that the booms overlap. Use the snap hooks and rings on the booms to link them together.

Function
Floating booms can be used in several ways: installed preventively in a stream, in conjunction with a containment curtain, or held in reserve in case of spills. A few absorbent booms are often included in site spill kits.
